Public health expert Dr. Albert Chang MD, MPH talks to Pavan Lohia about the current status of the Covid-19 outbreak across the globe and what this can teach us about the virus and its impacts yet to come. As an award winning public health expert, Dr. Chang shares his perspective on why social distancing is critical to flatten the curve, which medical advancements show promise towards a vaccine, how universities around the US are handling the outbreak, and the global collaboration it will take for the world to rise above this pandemic.

Dr. Chang is the Medical Director of the University of California, Irvine (UCI) Student Health Center who specializes in Pediatrics and Preventative Care. His experience spans nearly 20 years (practice and clinical) in Health Promotion, Disease Prevention, Preventative Medicine, Quality Measures and Process Improvements and Implementation Science. He received his MD and MPH from Boston University School of Medicine and returned to the West Coast for his Pediatric Residency at Children’s Hospital of Orange County and Preventive Medicine Residency at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Public Health.
